Job Description:
(1) Work closely with managing team regarding purchasing budgets, analyzing past buying trends, sales records, or economic conditions to anticipate consumer purchasing patterns, determine the styles and quality of furniture to purchase and monitor inventory level.
(2) Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing, direct junior staff to carry out purchasing activities; track and give feedback on procedures, revise and improve as needed; set monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives.
(3) Develop budget for purchasing, ensure all furniture are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints; review and approve purchase orders to supplier for furniture and materials.
(4) Attend furniture industrial events and third-party trade shows to learn about new products and technical developments; keep up with the latest furniture market trend through relationship building with suppliers and vendors.
(5) Monitor the performance of suppliers against contractual standards, work with them to achieve continuous improvements in costs and performance.
(6) Visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to evaluate the quality of furniture, negotiate long-term contracts which set out prices, quality standards, cost-reduction targets, delivery timescales, and commercial terms and conditions.
(7) Coach and supervise junior staff on purchasing procedures, inventory management and supplier relationship management ; conduct training for department personnel.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelorís degree in business administration, or equivalent knowledge in material management or purchasing
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics or inventory management
- Knowledge or relevant computer applications, such as CRM, MS Office
- Experience in supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supply base management
- Exceptional business acumen to manage product cost, and supplier relationships
- Strong understanding and extensive experience working with Asian suppliers
- Demonstrated understanding purchasing procedures and inventory management
- Understand budget management and be able to plan and forecast demand
- Excellent negotiation skills, analytical skills and decision-making skills
