The salary range for this classification is $2,600 - $4,592 monthly. Placement within the salary
range is commensurate with experience.

Department Marketing Statement
Department: Department of Occupational Therapy, HHSN
The department offers an MS in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Program that prepare students for a
professional career focused on helping people achieve skills and utilize resources to live
independent and meaningful lives. The program currently admits approximately 67 students every year
into the 2.5- year cohorted MSOT Program. Each student is also placed in 6 fieldwork sites
throughout the program, facilitated by the program┐s academic fieldwork coordinator. Currently, the
program has 6 full-time faculty and 13 part-time faculty.
Under the general supervision of the Chair of the Occupational Therapy Department, the incumbent
provides a full range of moderate to complex clerical work assignments in support of the
Occupational Therapy department, duties include but are not limited to operations, special events,
fieldwork files, admission processes, staff, student and faculty support. Assignments include
planning and coordinating work activities with relative independence, communicate effectively, and
meet deadlines. The incumbent will utilize standard office support technology and systems to enter
data, generate reports, and maintain
databases. Work often involves front line contacts with a variety o campus and community
requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Required Education: Graduation from high school, technical/vocational program, or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Graduation from a 4-year college or university preferred
Required Experience: Some experience in an office environment, equivalent to two years
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
- General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
- Fluency in using standard office software packages.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and
procedures. Able to identify deviations from applicable policies.
- Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop
practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
- Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking
and comparing data.
- Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals
requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing.
- Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies,
information, ideas, and instructions.
- Ability to work with individuals at a variety of levels using effective interpersonal skills.
Specialized Materials: Personal computer, typewriter, photocopier, fax, calculator, scantron
machine, and multi-line telephone system.
Assist the department chair, faculty and staff with moderate to complex clerical work assignments
including but not limited to typing, photocopying, generating standard reports, distributing
materials, maintaining files, and assist in the preparation of special events for the Occupational
Therapy Programs. Assist in the processing of admission and clinical affiliation agreement
paperwork for the Occupational Therapy department which includes sending and receiving of
affiliation paperwork, tracking current agreements, and maintaining files for processed agreements.
Assist the fieldwork coordinator, department chair, and faculty in establishing and maintaining
administrative files for the fieldwork placements, campus and community projects, as well as local
and international programs in the Occupational Therapy Department.
Function as primary receptionist by answering incoming telephone calls; greeting, screening, and
monitoring visitors and directing as appropriate. For both telephone calls and visitors, answer
routine inquiries as appropriate. Act as primary liaison between students and faculty within the
Department. If needed, assist faculty with grade submission and administrative paperwork for their
Perf ts as required or assigned.
