Job Description:
Primary Purpose

Provide advanced management and technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of electronic data solutions and applications.



Qualifications

Education/Certification

Bachelor degree preferred, Associate degree and equivalent work experience required

Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or equivalent certification

Must pass CCISD drug and alcohol abuse standards

Must pass criminal history and MVR driving record checks



Special Knowledge/Skills

Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal and telephone etiquette skills Knowledge of Application Development Life Cycle

Advanced knowledge of current principles, practices, and techniques for application development and system analysis

Ability to process information logically, develops process flowcharts and creates documentation.

Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Visual Studio.Net, C#, UNIX commands, AIX shell scripts

Knowledge of reporting tools including Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services

Knowledge of SSIS packages for ETL processes

Knowledge of Windows and Unix OS, TCP/IP and network protocols

Skill in troubleshooting problems dealing with varied levels of complex factors

Knowledge of relational database management system



Experience

Minimum of 7 years related work experience in system analysis and defining program requirements and application development

5 or more years experience managing large-scale information system projects

4 or more years maintaining, integrating and supporting enterprise systems

3 or more years developing web applications in Windows and Unix environments

Experience in network wiring, configuration layout, topologies, and communication protocols

Leadership and Project Management experience in directing data communications projects





Major Responsibilities and Duties

Manage and provide technical support for multiple enterprise business and instructional systems ensuring data integrity, system security, and proper backup/recovery capabilities

Assist in the development, analysis and design of Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Business planning and procedures.

Participate in cross functional teams to help define, document and maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act.

Review, analyze, evaluate and document processes and workflow reporting findings to Supervisor

Assist in the planning, assignment, scheduling and management of work flow required for development and maintenance of applications

As directed develop, document and implement approved custom solutions, web-based applications, programs, reports, queries and relational databases to supplement and enhance enterprise/instructional systems

As directed serve as consultant to District staff in defining and meeting requirements for collecting and disseminating information

Document and define life cycle management of Enterprise systems and resources

Investigate, implement or develop tools for monitoring performance of District information systems

Assist in the analysis, installation, and integration of Enterprise/Instructional applications

Analyze proposed applications in terms of equipment requirements and capabilities

Mentor/trains other technicians and staff on setup of equipment, and proper procedure of operations of district systems

Provide monthly updates and status reports to Technology supervisor.

Complete a written record of every service call.

Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.

Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.

Demonstrate integrity and ethics.

Display proficient levels of technology applications.

Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.

Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.

Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.

Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.

Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.

Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
