Social Media, Marketing, and Communications Intern
MTA Visions - Corporate Social Responsibility and Government Relations firm
Position supports remote
Internship – Part Time

Number of positions available: 1 Start date: 08/27/2019 End date: 12/10/2019
MTA seeks a Marketing and Communications (M&C) Intern to support maintaining and creating relevant social medial platforms. To include writing and research efforts as a broader social media and external communications strategy. The role will allow a motivated student to deepen their understanding of the corporate, political, and state and federal policy landscape while building skills and gaining experience as a team member, writer, and researcher. The M&C Intern will report to the Staff Coordinator.
The ideal candidate has a passion for improving the social corporate climate and engaging with people and studying issues within the political and policy realm. The ideal candidate seeks an opportunity to build their knowledge and skill around the components of a successful communications strategy in a mission-driven consulting firm.

Job Requirements:
General Requirements
[Scope of Responsibilities]
*Manage all social media accounts.
*Draft general media, outreach, and social media content aligned to a broader communications strategy.
*Set up structures to manage and track social media contacts.
*Manage all social media growth initiatives.
*Design promotional materials and template for MTA.
*Assists in planning, writing, and managing e-newsletters.
*Compile media clips from various CSR and Government Relations publications.
*Copyedit select written pieces in partnership with the Legislative Research Associate.
*Create images (photo and video content) for social media and online communications.
*Other duties as assigned.
The M&C Intern will join MTA Visions for a to be determined commitment or an average of 15 hours per week. Schedule will be determined in collaboration with the Staff Coordinator in order to provide the M&C Intern flexibility to work around a class schedule. It is expected that the M&C Intern will work from home.
[Qualifications and Experience]
*Undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in marketing, communications, writing, public policy and/or public affairs.
*Experience with major social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
*Experience producing compelling written work for a variety of audiences
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs and Adobe Creative Suite applications with an understanding and eye for graphic design.
*Passion for politics and policy
*Self-starter mentality and the ability to work independently
*A demonstrated commitment to excellence
*Strong interpersonal skills
*Ability to execute and exhibit good judgment
*Goal-oriented, project-oriented, and achievement-oriented
*Desire to learn from others and build relationships across the organization

This is an unpaid internship. SM Intern may be awarded undergraduate/graduate school credit, available upon request.
