Job Description:


Detailed engineering design of high voltage (transmission 69 - 500 kV) power line projects. These projects are to include greenfield and brownfield.


  • Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering.

  • Determines and documents project estimate, scope and schedule; sets and evaluates design options and criteria.

  • Works with client and/or construction contractors to develop best design.

  • Proofs in-house engineering projects. Attention to details required.

  • Manages project e-files for projects within the department.

  • Provides thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations.

  • Continually improve job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.

  • Serves as a mentor for younger engineers.

Periodically conducts field visits to collect data.


  • 5-7 years of experience in designing transmission lines.

  • BS degree in civil/structural or electrical engineering.

  • PE Registration preferred. x Structural design and/or geotechnical experience required.

  • PLS CADD and PLS-Pole experience required. PLS-Tower, PLS-Caisson experience is a plus.

  • Experience with foundation design software such as MFAD and LPile are a plus.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and other MS suite of products x Experience in utility based construction and operations are pluses.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Managerial and leadership skills.

  • High attention to details is required.

  • Ability to work independently and think analytically.

  • Work as a strong team player.

  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.

  • Strong focus on quality.

  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints.
