About This Position

The Department of Public Health Sciences - Division of Biostatistics at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 2.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:



  • Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures

  • Plan and perform data collection and analysis, through interdisciplinary research methods

  • Contributes to applied research activities by collecting, managing, organizing analyzing data, and maintaining databases, etc.

  • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize relationships in data

  • Assess and create data quality assurance reports including analysis of missing data, generation of data queries and data audits

  • Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice

  • Participates in the publication of research results

  • Develop reports, charts, graphs, and tables for use by investigators and for publications and presentations

  • Responsible for requests and queries from the Principal Investigator and research team

  • Work collaboratively on small and large-scale multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with UM colleagues and other institutions



Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Computer Science or a closely related field. At least one to two years of experience as a research assistant. Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to convey information effectively. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software effectively. Strong analytical skills. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
