Job Description:

GPAC has partnered with a well-respected and long-standing financial institution looking for a Senior Staff Accountant with Payroll experience.


Duties:



  • Supervise staff of 3 employees. Provide coaching and guidance to staff members to help them perform successfully in their roles. Approve timecards, provide performance reviews and feedback.

  • Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable

  • Maintain fixed asset records, calculate monthly depreciation and amortization entries, and file annual personal property tax returns

  • Responsible for multi-state use tax filings

  • Responsible for tracking, payment and accounting for all lease obligations

  • Bookkeeping for a related entity

  • Maintenance of chart of accounts in Management Reporter and Great Plains

  • Prepare and review reconciliations of various general ledger accounts

  • Review and approval of staff work papers and journal entries

  • Work with external auditors and prepare audit work papers as requested

  • Develop and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes

  • Perform special projects as needed




Education Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.






Technical Experience:




  • Experience using Great Plains and FAS100 required.



  • Experience using Management Reporter and/or Reporting Services preferred.



  • Experience using Certify preferred.



  • Working knowledge of financial statement preparation and analysis required



  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Computer and internet proficiency required. Knowledge of or the ability to learn in-house loan origination system required.
