Our Hospital and Nursing Home are located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa.
There are approximately 320 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab/Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills.
We currently have an opportunity available for a Full Time Manager, Activities, Adult Day Program, & Assisted Living Services at the Nursing Home.
This position, which reports to the Vice President of People and Community Programs, will provide managerial functions, leadership and hands-on delivery of resident and client-focused activation programs.

We currently have an opportunity available for a Full Time Manager, Activities, Adult Day Program, & Assisted Living Services at the Grove Nursing Home. This position, which reports to the Vice President of People and Community Programs, will provide managerial functions, leadership and hands-on delivery of resident and client-focused activation programs. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering activities for residents and adults with physical and cognitive impairments that meet the requirements of the Long Term Care Act; promoting and maintaining a professional and caring environment; facilitating staff in continuous quality improvement/risk management activities and will be a key driver in leading and directing related projects, committees and programs. This position will also be responsible for the management of Assisted Living Services which includes hiring workers, making staff schedules, supervising employee activities and fostering an engaging and encouraging atmosphere.
As an experienced professional, you will have the following qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of recent and relevant managerial experience in a healthcare/long term care setting

Experience in managing in a unionized environment

Experience with scheduling in a unionized environment

Experience with planning, implementing and delivering resident and client-focused activation programs

Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and leisure studies or related field

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, sound knowledge and understanding of the Long Term Care Act, relevant legislation & collective agreements

Demonstrated management skills (i.e., accounting, budget preparation & monitoring, business strategy, project management, communications, human resources, performance management and evaluation etc.)

Ability to work under pressure and on concurrent projects; Sound organizational and multitasking skills to prioritize tasks and manage workload
