Job Description:
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the comprehensive coordination and communication of designated manufacturing project plans as defined by the O-AT-KA Project Management Charter. The PM is responsible for developing the project plan with support of project team SME’s, ensuring that all facets of the project are included and timelines for project completion satisfy the project deliverable date, securing project resources and facilitating the execution of the project according to plan, monitoring and communicating the progress to all concerned parties, to successfully deliver the project on-scope, on-time and on-budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Facilitates the development of a complete project plan according to the project management charter and secures required resources (internal and external staff, capital, etc.) to ensure delivery of expected outcomes.
•Coordinates with leadership and stakeholders to clearly define project assumptions, deliverables and outcomes to determine expected ROI.
•Resource management –works with functional managers, consultants and 3rd party vendors as appropriate to evaluate resource load and availability in order to effectively secure and deploy project resources in a timely manner to support on-time project delivery.
•Tracks and controls project schedule and associated milestones and costs to achieve completion of project within the defined scope, budget and timeline.
•Provides regular project status updates to stake holders, management sponsors, Finance and project team members as appropriate.
•Pro-actively identifies and overcomes project obstacles, securing leadership support where necessary and communicates changes/updates effectively with all project resources to ensure continued alignment.
•In collaboration with appropriate functional project team members (i.e. Engineering, Operations, Safety, Technology, Purchasing, Quality, etc.) review performance of vendors and contractors to ensure all specifications of the project are followed and work is completed as expected before the resource is released.

Experience & Education Required: BA/BS degree and active PMP certification, with a minimum 5 years project management experience (manufacturing environment strongly preferred) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Ability to manage change effectively.
•Proficient in the utilization of Office applications (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel,) and project management software and tools.


This position is frequently exposed to company and customer confidential information related to products and process and strategic plans focused on delivering a competitive advantage to O-AT-KA. This position must maintain the highest degree of confidentiality at all times.

Management Responsibility

The Project Manager is an individual contributor who operates under the general direction of the Director.

Work Environment

The PM will typically work in an office setting and the incumbent is required to have the ability to operate standard office equipment (Computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, phone).

Additionally, the PM will spend time working in the Dairy Plant environment. Donning of personal protective equipment (PPE) including bump cap, safety glasses, hearing protection, smock and shoe covers is required as the incumbent will be exposed to extreme temperatures, industrial noise and slippery floor conditions. The ability to see, walk, sit, reach, bend, climb and carry up to 25 lbs. is required.

Travel required: Less than 10%.
