Job Description:

Demonstrate established knowledge and skill in performing set-ups and operating machines on new or repetitive jobs. Specialized understanding and skill requires performing more complex machine set-up and adjustments and figuring out how to run unusual parts.This is accomplished by maintaining Tecomet’s principles of Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Innovation.

Harmonized core technical skills:

Intermediate Math



Machine control

Machine setup / adjustments

Standard measuring


Harmonized core education and experience :

High school diploma or equivalent or

3- 4 year of CNC fabricating machining experience and/or training

Or combination of education and/or experience.

  • Ability to set-up, adjusts, and operates all basic machine tools within the process team to perform precision machining process/operations under limited direction of Process Engineer Technician.

  • Produce product after optimization process has taken place and complete to yield acceptable safety, quality, schedule and cost guidelines.

  • Ability to interpret CMM readings only asking for assistance from Processing Engineering Technician or Engineer when in doubt of action required.

  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.

  • Keep organized and thorough notes of machine settings and production specifications.

  • Ability to adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction after communicating with Process Engineer Technician.

  • Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration. Adjust to compensate for problems after communicating with Process Engineer Technician.

  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisor/Manager as deemed appropriate.
