Job Description:


The Jacobs Space Exploration Group (JSEG) is looking for a Sr. Software System Analyst to join the Space Systems Department. The selected candidate will be a part of the ES51 Software Systems Engineering Branch that supports multiple NASA programs, including the Space Launch System (SLS), International Space Station (ISS), and Gateway Space Station.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:




  • Provide software insight support to SLS Stages Avionics, including software development, integration, and verification activities, as well as model integration and testing.




  • Analyze FSW products and processes to ensure deliverables and process artifacts meet expectations as defined by the program and department. Product artifacts may include requirement traceability, requirement verification, and test data results.




  • Support internal, external, and project level reviews, working groups, vendor technical interchange meetings, milestone reviews, peer reviews, code walkthroughs, and other project meetings associated with the software delivery life cycle.




  • Provide weekly reports to the Group Lead and NASA customer.




  • Identify and communicate risks to project management.




  • Travel is required, < 25%.

Degree in Engineering or related STEM field required. Degree from an ABET-accredited university is desired. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D., with a minimum 19 years of experience, Masters with at least 23 years of experience, or BS with at least 25 years of experience.



Required Skills for this position include:



  • Experience with software lifecycle development phases, including major products (ICDs, IRDs, CM, Plans, Requirements, Testing, etc.) for aerospace systems.



  • Familiarity of software languages: C, C++, shell scripting, XML, Java or other object-oriented languages.



  • Familiarity with government standards and requirements.



  • Familiarity with CMMI and other process improvement models.



  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal to no oversight, as well as multi-task and be proactive in between formal assignments.



  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, communication and customer relation skills - must be able to clearly define and describe a technical subject to peers across various engineering disciplines.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).



Desired Skills:




  • Understanding and knowledge of current SLS program plans and strategy.





  • Previous experience with Agile or other similar software methodologies.









Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
