Job Description:

I'm partnered with a well established Electrical Contractor in the Cincinnati Market that is looking to add a Senior Estimator. The estimator will estimate and directly supervise other estimators on their assigned projects. Our markets include industrial, commercial, design-build, federal/gocernment and infrastructure electrical projects to $70M. This is a hands-on estimating position that will lead larger procurement efforts as well as assign, oversee and review all final assigned estimates packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY




  • Coordinate and conduct cost estimating functions for complex, multi-discipline projects.

  • Review individual proposal/estimating requirements and determine the required technical skills and staff hours for estimating the project.

  • Mentor, train and develop staff from entry level up.

  • Ensure that company methods and procedures are adhered to while working to improve same.

  • Develop the electrical scope of work in connection with individual proposal efforts and undertake related coordination with prospective customers. Assign work, manage estimating and proposal schedules, track other estimator's on assigned projects.

  • Assist the Project Manager and lead Kick-Off meeting on successful projects.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.





DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  • Manage bid schedule; ensures timely completion of estimates.

  • Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.

  • Identifies risk issues and their order of magnitude.

  • Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.

  • Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic construction approach.

  • Develops and maintains positive business relationships with customers, design firms, specialty contractors, and suppliers.

  • Prepares reports as needed.

  • Participate in periodic reviews and visits to projects as appropriate.





QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Be proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating; Accubid in particular.

  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Must possess strong work ethic.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
