Permanent Position: Wine Store Manager (NOC #0621)

Location: 316 Road 20, Oliver, BC V0H1T1

Wage Rate: $28.00 - $28.50 Hourly, for 37.50 Hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day

Education: High School, A university degree or college diploma in business administration or other field related to the wine is an asset.

Experience: Several years of experience in similar field required

Languages: English

Job Duties:

Manage the daily operations of the store, including cash handling, customer service, and inventory control.
Responsible for purchase orders, and inventory tracking & analysis.
Regularly meet with sales people, and merchandisers.
Resolve customer complaints in accordance with all operational guidelines.
Perform opening and closing functions.
Maintain a calm demeanor, and manage issues professionally, and according to store operating and company standards, setting a positive example.
Ensure conformance of all store operations to all applicable laws and regulations.
Assist in maintaining the training program to all staff and knowledgeable of store products, and train staff in proper customer relations skills, and sales techniques to maintain a high quality of service to the public.
Analysis of all purchase orders for cost accuracy and pricing.
Coordination with distribution companies, and liquor companies about pricing and sales strategies as well as product selections.
Regular inventory audits to determine products slated for inventory reductions or returns.
Responsible for in-store merchandising such as layouts, promotions, and displays.
Responsible for stocking of merchandise in the wine area, and maintaining the overall appearance, and cleanliness of the sales floor.
Provide customers with recommendations, and offer other assistance as needed.
Maintain wine organization and cleanliness.
Receiving of all wines.
Creation & distribution of wine newsletters.
Organizes wine tastings on the floor, and in wine tasting room.
Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as apparent.
Develop and implement marketing strategies
Plan budgets, authorize expenditures, and monitor revenues
Evaluate and improve customer service and respond to customer requests and issues
Address staffing requirements, including the hiring, development and retention of staff
