Job Summary



  • Our Client, a recognized leader in the sales, installation, and service of state-of-the-art monitor and control systems for fire alarm, security, sound, nurse call, portable fire extinguishers, suppression, sprinkler, and time management systems, is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator possessing 1-3 years' experience in a purchasing, order management, or customer service role.

Responsibilities



  • Support the logistics strategies to optimize product delivery from the suppliers to the service technicians

  • Coordinate the supply and distribution of materials and goods used by the service department

  • Responsible for running Requisition to PO Extract reports, locating missing PO information

  • Locate and update status of internal POs

  • Contact outside vendors for PO status updates, record accordingly

  • Track packages from beginning to end and keep internal customers up to date with status of orders

  • Keeps in constant communication with every carrier in order to provide accurate tracking information to the customer and to the appropriate internal departments. Advise appropriate personnel of any delays.

  • Send delivery notifications

  • Provide status updates to customer inquiries

  • Ensure all products and services are procured on time

  • Must have strong organizational skills, time management, and be very detail-oriented.

  • Operate across multiple functions and interface with internal stakeholders to improve the distribution network design and inventory positions/allocations

  • Responsible for leading/coordinating initiatives by identifying best practices and utilizing processes improvement methodologies to improve operating efficiencies and delivery services

  • Maintain SharePoint databases and/or spreadsheets

  • Manage at risk orders by troubleshooting with suppliers and internal customers

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications
Experience



  • 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing, order management, or customer service role

  • Previous experience in a high-volume transactional environment and/or customer-facing role


Skills



  • Skilled in full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint applications

  • Able to master usage of customized IT applications (Oracle)

  • Must be able to be an effective communicator with all levels of internal customers, staff and management

  • Detailed oriented & possess a strong sense of urgency

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test

  • Be able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local Codes
