Vehicle Dynamics Engineer
Bollinger Motors is looking for a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer. This position will work closely with the software, electrical, and mechanical design teams in the dynamics modeling and control system development for the Bollinger B1 and B2 vehicles. Job duties to be performed in the Detroit, MI area. Compensation based on experience and abilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the vehicle dynamics and modeling for the Bollinger B1 and B2 high-performance trucks.
Work with the chassis, drivetrain, and suspension groups to improve vehicle performance through vehicle performance simulation and testing.
Develop parametric vehicle dynamics model of vehicle to be used for vehicle performance optimization and component selection.
Develop and test vehicle powertrain controls algorithms in simulation and in vehicle.
Work closely with the vehicle controls group to implement control algorithms in software.

Education, Skills and Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, or related field
Desire and ability to work in fast-paced, self-directed work environment
2+ years of experience working on vehicle dynamics modeling and simulation
Knowledge of and experience implementing classical controls algorithms in hardware
Knowledge of and experience with modern controls methods a plus
Experience with in-vehicle software testing and calibration
Experience with vehicle dynamics modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink
Experience with model-based software design in Simulink a plus
Experience with vehicle dynamics modeling and simulation in Adams, CarSim, Dymola, or other vehicle dynamics simulation tools a plus
Knowledge of and experience with version control software (GIT, SVN, etc…)
Student team and project experience a plus
Experience with high voltage systems a plus
Experience with electric drivetrains a plus
