 About This Position
The Department of Radiology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, as an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will work in human research projects that evaluate the effects of viral infections on the brain using advanced whole-brain MR imaging methods such as diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI). The common goal of these projects is to characterize the impact of viral infections on the brains of children or adults using multi-parametric MR imaging methods and associate the imaging findings to clinical laboratory, neurobehavioral and neurocognitive alterations. The responsibilities of the position involves MR data acquisition, processing and analysis, including image segmentation, and analyses of cross-sectional and longitudinal DTI/DKI data, MRS spectral data, rs-fMRI data using multi-parametric approaches. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with scientists and clinicians, and will have the opportunity to contribute to other ongoing projects in the laboratory.
Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Neuroscience, or a closely related discipline. Prefer experience in image processing, multi-parametric data analysis, and computer programming. Must be highly motivated with excellent analytical skills and creative scientific thinking. Ability to successfully work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional interpersonal skills.
