Job Description:

The Director of Research Pharmacy will develop and execute a plan to accomplish the department's goals and objectives.The incumbent on this position will establish short and long-range management, organizational, operational, and financial plans that aim to successfully achieve the department's goals and objectives. He/she will works closely with departmental leadership to determine the right approach, steps and organizational structure to accomplish all goals and objectives. Develops and executes a plan to accomplish the department's goals and objectives. Continuously communicates progress and exceptions to all constituent groups. Ensures collaboration of all groups to achieve goals. Establishes short and long-range management, organizational, operational, and financial plans that aim to successfully achieve the department's goals and objectives. Works closely with departmental leadership to determine the right approach, steps and organizational structure to accomplish goals and objectives. Identifies and develops funding sources. Develops and executes a marketing plan to obtain additional revenue streams and ultimately increase the profile of the department and the school of medicine.Takes a leadership role in recruiting key faculty and staff members. Is accountable for the comprehensive an effective communication strategy within the department that promotes a common understanding of the market, vision, strategy, and accountabilities

Promotes a culture of two-way communications and creates opportunities for faculty and staff participation. Maintains and develops excellent relationships with external constituencies, including working with Advancement and faculty to successfully develop major donors.

Theminimumqualifications for this positionare as follows: Requires current pharmacy or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida, a degree in Pharmacy (advanced degree preferred) from an accredited College of Pharmacy, and a minimum of five years clinical research pharmacy experience in a progressive hospital setting. In-depth knowledge of clinical research operations, including interpretation and implementation of FDA regulations/ICH guidelines, is required. Research compliance certifications preferred.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with all levels of faculty and research staff at the University of Miami.

Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly research pharmacy system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing technologies.
