Senior Chemist - Inorganics Lab



Employee Responsibilities:




  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

  • Regular attendance and punctuality




  • Performs complex analyses and non-routine analysis in support of product assessment and quality control on tobacco products utilizing one or more of the following instruments: UV-vus instrumentation, CHN analyzer, smoking machines, or other special purpose equipment and/or multiple wet chemistry techniques




  • Performs all testing with good dexterity, good laboratory techniques, and high degree of accuracy and precision




  • Documents results accurately in notebooks and Laboratory Information Management Systems( LIMS)




  • Performs instrument calibration, instrument troubleshooting, recognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvements




  • Makes recommendations for technical improvements




  • Process and evaluate data, review and approve data produced by other analysts




  • Writes SOP's, standard test methods, validation protocols, and other lab protocols as required




  • Assists in Method Development and executes method validation protocols




  • Trains new analysts in laboratory procedures




  • Adheres to highest quality standards; ensures compliance with quality system




  • Communicates effectively with client staff members




  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner




  • Performs other duties as assigned




  • Experience in a cGMP and/or ISO 17025 environment is preferred




  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills




  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail




  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude




  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies




Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's in chemistry; Master or Doctorate degree preferred




  • At least five years in-depth technical experience in laboratory in chemistry or related scientific discipline




  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
