Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation is looking to add a R&D Technical Manager - Nutrients to our Food Chemistry team. We have Chemistry sites in Madison, WI, Greenfield, IN, Battle Creek MI and Boulder, CO.


As a R&D Technical Manager - Nutrients, key responsibilities include being a technical resource for the Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation team. You will take a lead role in interfacing with clients, specifically involving technical expertise and problem solving. You will provide technical/scientific guidance internally. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving validation plans and reports, take a lead role in identifying and solving analytical problems, as well as conduct complex method development studies and projects.


R&D Technical Manager-Nutrients Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :


Demonstrates and promotes the company vision


Regular attendance and punctuality


Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate


Provides technical/scientific guidance to the laboratory as well as other areas of the company


Effectively manages projects to completion


Reviews and approves method validation plans and reports


Performs review of current and new written methods. Assesses technical validity of reviewed methods.


Assesses feasibility of research projects requiring a high degree of creativity and technical organization


Conduct complex and challenging feasibility/development studies and projects


Implements new techniques and instrumentation to improve operations


Accepts leadership role in troubleshooting and solving challenging problems


Performs scientific mentoring activities (e.g. training on specific techniques, assisting with complex analytical work/problem solving)


Consults with clients to determine technical requirements and to suggest plans to accomplish these needs. Implements scientific recommendations provided to clients


Discusses technical problems or scope changes with the client, suggests solutions and actions to resolve problems


Authors scientific papers which are published in peer reviewed journals or presented at scientific meetings


Assists with marketing of EFII programs as required


Contributes to strategic technical planning


The ideal candidate would possess :



  • 3-5 years of experience with designing and performing method development and validation studies with various analytical techniques. (e.g. LCMSMS, HPLC, GC)

  • Highly skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications.

  • Skilled in data interpretation and report writing.

  • Demonstrated ability for logical thinking, vision, and creativity necessary to function effectively with little structure or supervision

  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in the analysis of nutrients in food, such as lipids, carbohydrates, amino acids, or vitamins


Basic Minimum Qualifications :



  • PhD in chemistry, microbiology, or equivalent degree, or 8-10 years of related experience without PhD

  • 3-5 years of experience with designing and performing method development and validation studies.


Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of one of our Chemistry sites are encouraged to apply.
