PSL is led by an experienced team that is dedicated to the pursuit of meeting our Sponsors' needs while continuing to maintain operational excellence. Each member of the team brings experience and wealth of industry knowledge that continues to set PSL apart from the competition. Collectively, the team contributes to the three key service areas - Toxicology, Pharmacology and Analytical Chemistry.




PSL is searching for a Lab Manager in Dayton, NJ.




Lab Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :




Lead team, schedule, and train employees




Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations




Ensure coverage and performance




Foster morale and teamwork




Overall, day-to-day vivarium operation including supervision of staff.




Scheduling and coordinating initiation and conduct of studies in conjunction with the Study Director.




Instruct, train and supervise scientists in all procedures (technical and GLP).




Recognize personnel skill sets of technicians and scientists.




Coordinate test protocols and execute corresponding SOP's in the lab.




Working knowledge of experimental design and coordinate/supervise technical implementation of experiments (tests).




Ensure all experimental data is properly recorded and that observations of unanticipated responses of the test system are appropriately reported to the Study Director.




Ensure that GLP regulations are followed and staff is technically trained for the tasks at hand.




Develop and maintain procedures to ensure the review of data for completeness of documentation and reporting of results.




Maintain liaison with animal care in conjunction with: test protocols compliance with GLP's appropriate test guidelines and protocols.




Assist Study Directors in coordinating & maintaining an historical control database.




Any other duties assigned.




The ideal candidate would possess :




Strong leadership, initiative, and teambuilding skills




Ability to wear a respirator




Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills




Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail




Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude




Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies




Basic Minimum Qualifications :




Bachelor's degree in a life science degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)




At least 5 years of supervisory management experience in toxicology (preferably in contract or regulatory research and testing)




Understanding of government regulations dealing with preclinical testing, particularly EPA, FDA, OECD, JMAPFF, and GLP




Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship




Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Dayton, New Jersey are encouraged to apply.
