Senior Property Accountant

Length: Contract-to-Hire!

Pay: $32-35/hour contract to start then will convert at $65-75K + 5% bonus!

Location: Tyvola ( Charlotte Airport area)


Not a heads-down role. Must be comfortable interacting with Project Managers on a daily basis via phone and in-person. Must be able to mentor and train other accountants.

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant is a vital team member who enhances the Company's mission and core values by delivering quality and timely accounting services to our customers. Responsibilities include processing business activity through the general ledger to the financial statements. This position accounts for customers who require cash basis or simple accrual basis financial accounting.


*Review financial packages.
*Mentor and train Staff Accountants.
*Prepare monthly journal entries.
*Reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting schedules on a monthly basis.
*Complete month-end process including financial statements and cash flow statements.
*Analyze the detail activity in the Balance Sheet Accounts.
*Analyze the variance activity in the Income Statements.
*Review and interpret financial reporting requirements and accounting regulations.
*Assist in the set-up of bank accounts, accounting systems, and financial reports for new properties and/or customers.
*Review and approve all accounts payable and payment disbursements, tenant database changes, tenant ledgers and rent rolls.
*Prepare, review, and assist with annual recovery reconciliations and estimated tenant billings by the end of April.
*Maintain cash balances in accordance with client requirements and prepare transfer and funding requests.
*Timely preparation of monthly standard reporting packages for Property Managers and clients.
*Prepare city, county, state, and federal tax returns for business, property, or sales tax, as required.
* Assist with annual budgets, prepare audit packages and provide lender reports as required.


* Bachelor's Degree
* 5+ years of progressive senior accounting experience
* Experience reviewing financial statements and conducting month-end close
* Commercial real estate industry experience highly preferred
* Strong understanding of CAM and Tax Recovery analysis preferred
* Strong Excel skills
* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
