Job Description:
-Present educational workshops and presentations to the community, social clubs and organizations, area agencies, and consumer groups on disability issues and available services and resources.
-Must be capable and willing to travel within our Nine (9) County area.
-Design and implement workshops dealing with independent living skills, personal assistant management, goal setting, and working with service agencies.
-Conduct outreach activities to involve the community in interactions with individuals with disabilities.
-Assisting individuals in identifying, applying for, and obtaining available services.
-Creating and maintaining public awareness, including public speaking.
-Conducts personal care assessments and follow-ups, as required.
-Researches, identifies and implements new and/or expanded independent living services, as needed.
-Maintains appropriate, accurate, and timely documentation of all activities.
-Enter data into agency data base.
-Acts as case manager keeping case records and statistical reports.
-Fulfills other job related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Bachelorís Degree in Human Service field or Three years related experience working with seniors as well as those with low-income and/or disabilities. Must have the ability to work efficiently in Microsoft Office and Excel.Ability to communicate with the public and staff in a clear and polite manner with good phone etiquette.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to work with the disabled, low-income, and elderly population as well as the general public.
Ability to maintain respect and composure when addressing issues with staff and contractors.
Ability to organize and maintain weekly appointments as well as the consumerís files.
Ability to handle interruptions and be open-minded to change.
