Job Description:
This position will serve as a systems analyst responsible for completing a wide range of professional information systems assignments. These programs impact the operations of multiple bureaus, departments, and a wide area of the public sector. The work will impact a wide user base, with web interface systems, online transaction processing, data query components, multiple different software languages, and interfaces with networks and database administration. Duties will include multi-tasking to create and maintain the most complex programs, converting and implementing existing systems, providing project oversight, project development, implementing and monitoring the department information technology quality assurance standards. Work involves monitoring new and existing projects by providing technical leadership to contractors, training for DTMB analysts, interfacing with client groups, and providing team leadership for other professional analysts in the section. Design, develop, validate and implement test plans, design and develop application security strategies, model relational databases for very complex projects. Project assignments and activity will be executed within the framework of the State of Michigan System Engineering Methodology (SEM).


Job Requirements:

Education
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11/12
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
Alternate Education and Experience
Information Technology Programmer/Analyst P11 - 12
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
