Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation is looking to add a Method Development Scientist to our Food Chemistry team in Madison, WI


As a LCMSMS Staff Scientist you will plan, design and indirectly lead a team to conduct complex method development studies and projects to generate high quality scientific results on behalf of our clients and play a key role in developing new strategies, techniques, and instrumentation for new ventures and critical issues within the Eurofins Food Chemistry team.


Staff Scientist Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :


Indirectly leads a scientific team to conduct complex and challenging feasibility/development studies


Consults with clients to determine technical requirements and devises plans to accomplish these needs. Implements scientific recommendations provided to clients


Performs review of current and new written methods and SOPs. Assesses technical validity of reviewed methods and suggests changes for improved efficiency and method performance


Effectively manages projects to completion


Performs peer review and QC review of data.


Implements new techniques and instrumentation to improve operations


Accepts leadership role in troubleshooting and solving challenging problems


Monitors, evaluates, and reviews the scientific performance of assays


Authors scientific papers, which are published in peer reviewed journals and/or presented in scientific meetings


Performs scientific mentoring activities (e.g., training study-specific techniques, assisting with complex analytical work/problem solving, and presenting technique seminars)


Understands appropriate regulatory requirements


Participates and hosts client visits


Evaluates new technology and possible opportunities for adding automation


The ideal candidate would possess :


At least 0-1 year of related experience with PhD in chemistry, microbiology, or equivalent degree, or 6-10 years of related experience without PhD


Highly skilled in conducting research, data interpretation, and writing reports.


Demonstrated ability in method development for the analysis of compounds and formulations.


Hands on method development experience with LC/MS/MS.


Highly skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications.


Knowledge of laboratory automation software, system software, and Microsoft applications.


Basic Minimum Qualifications :


PhD in chemistry, microbiology, or equivalent degree (relevant experience may be substituted for education)


Experience and knowledge of analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC/MS/MS).


Effective oral and written communication skills.


Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Livermore, CA are encouraged to apply.
