Job Description:

Prepare bi-weekly payrolls for non-partner full-time and part-time staff. Includes auditing and approving payroll information input before payroll checks are run for applicable payrolls; calculating earnings from timecards; inputting changes in to the Human Resources/Payroll system; and coordinating the distribution of paychecks regional offices.
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in reconciling and processing all payroll related government reporting and tax reporting and the preparation, disbursement, and documentation of all tax payments.

  • Maintain PTO balance accuracy held within the payroll/timecard software.

  • Provide G/L Accountant with information for preparation of payroll journal entries to the G/L and the reconciliation of accounts as requested.

  • Assist Payroll Supervisor with preparation and processing of distribution payroll for partners; also assist with preparation of certain special compensation calculations.

  • Prepare manual payroll checks as requested.

  • Provide reports which require payroll information, i.e., earnings, deductions, budgeting, etc..

  • Maintains and/or distributes all reports and records associated with payroll process, i.e., registers, paid benefits, earning records, etc.

  • Work with Ultimate Software to resolve payroll software problems and/or issues.

  • May be requested to perform other duties not listed above


  • 2 to 5 years of experience in an in-house computerized payroll environment.

  • ADP experience preferred.

  • Broad payroll tax return experience.

  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Excel and familiar with Microsoft Word.

  • Ability to work under pressure in order to maintain strict time schedule and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work with and respond to a large volume of email traffic sent to payroll department.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must have excellent attention to detail.

  • Well-developed communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Proficient in use of PC, 10 key and typing skills.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
