Job Description:
Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Research Associate in Gaithersburg, MD.

We seek a highly motivated candidate to be part of our process development team for the manufacture of recombinant adeno-associated virus and plasmid DNA.

Research Associate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The candidate will carry out Bioanalytical assays where he/she will utilize and help develop chromatographic and electrophoretic assays, qPCR/ddPCR analyses, and cell-based assays to support in-process sample testing including sample preparation, data analysis, data summary, and reporting results.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • The successful candidate is expected to have 1) good understanding of chromatographic, electrophoresis, qPCR/ddPCR, and cell-based assay techniques; 2) effective communication and interpersonal skills; 3) good time management and multi-tasking skills; 4) ability to work within a team and also cross functional setting; and 5) good documentation skills.

  • The ideal candidate will make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, and exercise appropriate technical discretion in the execution of experiments.

  • B.S./M.S. degree with 1-2 years of experience with mammalian cell culture and cell based assay/ELISA in 96-well plate format is ideal.

  • Prior experience with automatic cell counters, plate readers and data analysis with SoftMax pro is a plus.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • ​Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences, chemical/biochemical engineering or related discipline and 2-5 years' experience, or Master's Degree in biological sciences, chemical/biochemical engineering or related discipline and 0-2 years' experience.

  • Familiarity with SOP and GxP requirements is a plus but not required.

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance to Gaithersburg, MD are encouraged to apply.
