Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Scope of Position:
Position offers 2 to 4 in-depth, impactful rotations across areas of strategic value to Corning Glass Technologies (CGT) across a period of up to two years, aiming to prepare incumbents for significant leadership positions. Successful candidates will receive executive-level coaching and mentorship and exposure to high-impact projects and initiatives.

Focus on the following functional areas:
Market/Value Chain/Completive Analysis:
• Develop and maintain sources of information that provide relevant and timely information/insights into the consumer electronics end market (such as TV, IT(PC/Tablet), or handheld market) or value chain
• Build and use analytical models to predict market demand and/or glass supply using sound assumptions and methodology
• Assess the market for related and competing technologies and share this information, as appropriate, to determine their expected impact on the industry/business
• Collaborate with the rest of the Industry Intelligence organization to compare, contrast, and link market information to develop a full view of the market environment and dynamics
• Produce summaries of key intelligence acquired from outside sources and distributes them among relevant internal audiences
• Communicate with division and corporate contacts across regions (e.g., Marketing Communications, Strategy, Finance) to provide market information for inclusion in analyses and reporting conducted by other functions

Strategy Project Management:
• Lead cross-functional strategy projects: define project issues / scope, develop analytical plan, manage project schedule, develop strategic options, and communicate results to executives in a Steering Team.
• Typical strategy projects topic includes, but not limited to, growth strategy, customer / product strategy, investment business case, technology trend analysis, and industry scenarios analysis.
• Utilize advanced analytic tools, process rigor and appropriate cross functional participation to confirm quality, depth, and consistency of strategic decisions
• Rely on financial analysis, market and competitive intelligence, statistical analysis, and technical understanding to buttress strategy
• Work closely with global senior division managers and functional leaders.

Acting Chief of Staff to Executive:
• Support a general manager-level executive in critical strategic and operational decisions through analysis and communications support
• Represent and/or partner with the executive in select internal, cross-functional, and/or external customer meetings


Job Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 2 yrs. post MBA experience working at a top-tier professional services firm OR with multinational/start-up companies in a strategy, finance, business development, supply chain, manufacturing strategy or marketing management-oriented role. Extensive professional experience prior to attainment of the advanced degree may be accepted lieu of this requirement.

Required Skills:
• Strong analytic/problem-solving skills with experience in dealing with complex business issues
• A good combination of strategic thinking and operational execution
• Capable of senior management communication & engagement
• Demonstrated leadership in managing projects & people

Desired Skills:
• Technical undergrad degree
• Professional experience in a top-tier management consulting firm (3-4 years)
• China and/or Asia working experience with proven track record
• Experience in the consumer electronics, telecommunication, new energy, or automotive industries
