Responsible for supervising staff that manage the flow of supplies for the manufacturing process for assigned products.


Manages and develops standard work for buyers and planners.
Develops metrics to track inventory turns by buyer, supplier on-time delivery by buyer, and purchase price variance.
Tracks and plans inventory based on sales forecasts, projections, history, trends, etc.
Manages all aspects of the supplier relationship for raw material, finished goods, and contract manufacturing.
Sources preferred packaging partners as needed in order to expand or flex manufacturing capacity.
Reviews and manages purchased part standard costs and purchase price variance as needed.
Works with Quality Manager to develop and maintain a supplier compliance program.
Researches, designs, and implements business process improvement initiatives.
Works with production planning, materials management, and manufacturing to continually improve on-time delivery to end user.
Produces reports as needed related to supplier performance, inventory turns, and purchase price variance.
Conducts onsite supplier visits to key suppliers as needed, including international travel.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Supervises supervisory and/or non-supervisory employee(s).
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Working with Human Resources on employee issues.

Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
Uses noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (required).
Five to seven years of relevant experience in supply chain management dealing with a complex network of worldwide suppliers (required).
Experience in Asian supply chain development and maintenance (required).
Specific experience in VMI agreements and Kanban relationships (preferred).
Computer Skills
Intermediate: Alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet.
Basic: Word processing/typing.
