MTEQ seeks a mid-level quality engineer with experience in systems quality assurance to support a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide "eyes and ears" technology to protect our nation. Travel will be required once or twice a month to stations on the southwest and other borders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will support technical engineering quality assurance for the systems acquisition and sustainment life cycle for our client's portfolio of programs, projects, demonstrations, and other efforts. This entails applying systems engineering principles and policies, ensuring high workmanship standards and compliance with DHS and CBP systems engineering standards and procedures. Representative responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain quality management plans to govern quality management, risk management, and configuration management (CM) processes and ensure adherence to DHS/CBP processes, policies, and frameworks

  • Improve systems engineering life cycle methods and processes to meet or exceed CMMI, ISO 9001, IEEE, DoD CM, and other critical requirements

  • Support CM of our client's system components, and support configuration control boards (CCBs) for hardware, software, and infrastructure

  • Align work processes to CMMI, ISO 9001, IEEE, and DoD CM environments

  • Review change requests (CRs) for logistics compliance

  • Update CM plans and processes

  • Define and execute a continuous process improvement program resulting in efficiencies related to documenting and maintaining quality management, risk management, and CM for hardware, software, and infrastructure systems


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.

  • Previous work with CBP's Integrated Fixed Tower (IFT), Remove Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS), Mobile and Agent-Centric Systems (MACS), and/or Field Surveillance Services (FSS) portfolios is a plus.

  • 3-10 years of experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.

  • Experience in applying industry standards (CMMI, ISO, IEEE) and best practices.

  • Experience with supporting multi-functional technical engineering teams for large, complex programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively solve problems.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (i.e., ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) is a plus.


SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This position requires an Active DOD Secret Clearance. Top Secret or higher preferred.
