Job Description:
To provide for the ongoing expansion of employment opportunities for clients being served by A Safe Haven’s Center for Workforce Development, while cultivating long-term mutually beneficial relationships with strategically targeted business firms.

• Actively source employers using various techniques including cold-calls and onsite visits in order to discuss service offerings of CWD
• Establish relationships with employers and assess their needs in order to provide employment for clients of the Workforce Development department and the community
• Regularly visit employers after relationship is established to continue to assess their needs
• Partner with Civic Staffing Agency in order to help fulfill their staffing needs with CWD clients
• Utilize database system regularly to input and manage all employer information and communication history
• Coordinate direct-hire job interviews for CWD clients with recruiters and business partners
• Assess clients to determine their capabilities and create an IEP (Individual Employment Plan) in order to assess their career goals and match them to employment opportunities
• Conduct specialized training for clients in order to prepare them for certain job opportunities
• Coordinate “job clubs” on a weekly basis to teach clients interviewing skills, improve their resumes and other pre-employment tasks to prepare them for the workforce
• Conduct and/or schedule drug screenings on clients as a pre-requisite
• Follow up with employers regarding newly placed clients every 30 days in order to check on their progress and address any issues
• Attend weekly departmental meetings
• Participate in weekly companywide professional development training sessions
• Participate in the annual CWD planning process and provide recommendations for improvement
• Create bi-weekly reports that include information detailing the progress of the program
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Skilled in writing resumes
• Ability to effectively use databases for information tracking
• Ability to be self-motivated and proactive
• Must have strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
• Ability to be creative and work in a mission-driven, community orientated organization
• Ability to work independently and make appropriate judgments calls when necessary
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude during difficult and high-stress times
• Ability to give full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made
• Ability to ask questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
• Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, and 20 feet or more

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
