Job Description:
Imagine yourself as a grower manager using your horticulture and business skills growing beautiful products in a company that values your expertise and ideas. You will manage every aspect of the growing operation as well as your team.

Growing Operations:
• Optimize and manage growing operations processes and procedures from planning and propagation to finished products meeting customer specifications and satisfaction including forecasts, schedules, propagation, production, environment, plant health, waste, productivity, personnel, safety, finished products, inventory and customer satisfaction in variable weather and seasons.
• Collaborate with sales and internal departments and adapt production to ensure the finished plants are available as required for customer specifications and satisfaction.
• Determine procedural changes and optimize environment, planting, growing, irrigation, pest control, fertilizer, harvesting, grading, storage and shipment for greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Analyze crops, identify, correct issues and implement best practices managing propagation, growing, fertilizers, irrigation, pest, disease and weed control programs as well as ensuring sufficient inventory of finished plants.
• Create a well-maintained, safe environment that complies with corporate safety practices and industry standards.

Financial Management: Business acumen must include achieving revenue and profit goals managing production, labor, materials, inventory, costs, forecasts and capital expenditures.

Leadership: Share your passion and expertise for horticulture by leading and developing a high performance, results oriented team focused on best practices and maximizing their contribution.
• Train and lead your team in all aspects of growing operations including planning, environment, plant health, irrigation, IPM, pesticides, fertilizers, growth regulators, production, finishing products.
• Demonstrate, communicate and promote professionalism, expertise, best practices, accountability, ethics, results, profitability, corporate goals, and the value of a workforce.

Job Requirements:
Required Education and/or Experience for Success
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing and growing a horticulture operation with four season annuals and perennials with a track record of success in increasing revenue and profitability through effective growing practices.
• A degree in Horticulture or related field from a four year university preferred.
