Our caregivers focus on each unique patient to deliver the appropriate care and emotional support to our patients and their families.

As a Collector for Girling Community Care, you will:

  • Follow Girling Health Care Inc.'s policies to accurately and truthfully prepare documentation for submission of re-billing.

  • Audit HMO EOB's (Explanation of Benefits) for rejections and short pays on a timely basis.

  • Research the rejection, based on rejection code - identify the nature of the problem and implement a solution in a timely manner.

  • Based on client enrollment and eligibility, have HMO reprocess the claim correctly, rebill to a different HMO or state program, or after exhausting all avenues of payment, write-off claim with all applicable documentation.

  • Maintain on-going and current spreadsheet of claim issues with detailed notes and dates of action preformed.

  • Correct, where appropriate, any inaccurate information in our client's file. Send correct information to regional office and/or corporate department if necessary.

  • Run monthly audits on unpaid A/R accounts for specific HMOs.

  • Electronically bill claims directly to the HMO if necessary.

  • Keep and maintain files with all EOB's, corrected claims, appealed claims, and claims that have been written-off.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client/provider information, follow HIPPA guidelines at all times.

Required Skills:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Accounting experience preferred.

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, with good math and verbal skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and to document pertinent information.

  • Excellent phone etiquette essential.
