Job Description:

This position is responsible for the management and operating results of one of three (3) APP-Dover Castings Business Center. Profit & loss responsibility for a portion of the total APP-Dover Castings Business ( BC1: DS NGVs & Complex Vanes; BC2: DS Complex Segments/ Solid Vanes, Small Blades and Shrouds; BC3: Equiax Aero & IGT.)

  • Sets a high standard for ethics and compliance, ensuring business processes adhere to our business conduct policies and procedures.

  • Provide leadership, direction and customer focus in meeting the short and long term goals and objectives of the Business Center. This position oversees the planning and direction of the assigned Business Center.

  • Position requires a financial acument! Work closely with finance to prepare monthly/ quarterly forecasts and on an annual basis, the annual plan. Assure accuracy of standards. Monitor financial performance daily through the daily P&L (Shipment/ Sales, Variable Costs, Labor Efficiency, Absorbtion and Net Production are key daily metrics).

  • Position has oversight for Business Center Engineering and Quality resources within the Business Center as well as direct involvment in New Product Introduction (NPI) and overall quality improvement activities (Yield, Scrap and Rework.)

  • Position requires a customer focus! On-time delivery and Customer returns/ delivered quality are key metrics. Interface with Program Mangment and Account Managers. Participate in daily/ weekly customer status meetings. Participate/ support the NPI Phase Gate Process.

  • Plan/ schedule the Business Center manufacturing operations. Establish production goals. Communicate daily progress towards achieving the monthly objectives through Daily Management Meetings. Lead the Business Center in the effort to achieve those goals.

  • Work to fully implement Product families and their associated manufacturing flow paths. Monitor work flow to insure that schedules are met, bottlenecks are indentified and effectively managed. Analyze and implement process flow improvements.

  • Develop and operation that fosters continuous improvement. Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives for safety, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and quality. Implement strategies to increase efficiency, improve quality, improve on-time delivery and ensure continuous improvement. Work with quality assurance to identify and correct product or system deficiencies. Manage cost reduction and capital project implementation, as assigned.

  • Determine and assure appropriate personnel staffing. Develop capabilities through teaching, coaching, establishment of high standards and ensuring accountability. Exhibit and promote an attitude within the Businesss Center that assures an engaged and energized workforce. Regularly conduct quality, safety and communication sessions
