This role will manage and support all aspects of marketing execution in both the Prepared Foods and Potato categories in support of the National Accounts sales team. Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager - Customer Marketing, position will act as a strategic business leader with Sales, Brand, Innovation and other functional groups within the organization. Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of medium to long range account plans, enterprise selling for Innovation platforms, value proposition development, custom innovation project management, forecasting, budget planning & reporting and business performance analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manage National Accounts Prepared Foods and Potato customer-driven innovation projects, including opportunity analysis, leading cross-functional project teams in product/packaging development, commercialization and financial analysis for new product launches

  2. Assist in the development and execution of customer specific account plans to maximize profitable sales of Customer Label and McCain branded Prepared Foods and Potato items. This would include but not be limited to: use of existing and custom research, development of promotions, support of branded and private label product initiatives, product commercialization, food show/conference support, utilization of culinary and R&D resources

  3. Active involvement in leveraging marketing platforms and creating customer-specific initiatives to grow Potato and Prepared Foods business with key National Account customers

  4. Work with Sales to support trade shows and customer events, providing category and industry expertise

  5. Provide assistance to the Sales organization to facilitate their success with appropriate business solutions. This will include providing information and expertise on capabilities, products, trends and markets dynamics

  6. Manage marketing spending budget and reports on spending results and ROI

  7. Provide a day-to-day point of contact for McCain National Accounts sales team and customers, facilitating tactical business support and promotional programming development as needed

  8. Conduct business analysis and reporting (sales, profits, competitive activity, promotional results, etc.) and respond to customer requests/inquiries in a professional and timely manor

  9. Support monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by preparing monthly SKU performance reporting and developing forecasts

  10. Assist in the development of the overall business strategy with a focus on appropriate category, segment and account targeting for future business growth

  11. Other project/duties as assigned or needed

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration with Marketing emphasis or related field, MBA preferred but not required

  • Minimum two years of business experience required in marketing, project management, supply chain, finance or sales. Customer/Trade Marketing experience desired but not required. Food, Frozen category and/or Foodservice Marketing experience a plus

  • Proficiency with PC applications in the areas of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point

  • Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to understand business fundamentals from an opportunity or challenge perspective, then convert that insight to sustainable strategies and action plans for growth

  • Entrepreneurial approach to driving a business with an ability to influence the organization

  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills and capable of independent decision making and setting business vision

  • Ability to convert quantitative and qualitative research/information into actionable insights and customer solutions; Familiarity with foodservice industry market research and data sources (NPD, Datassentials, Technomic, etc.) preferred but not required

  • Understanding of the product development and commercialization process preferred

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple projects in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (including strong presentation skills), analytical ability, independent decision making and business vision.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical ability, independent decision making and business vision - as well as a strong understanding of the marketing skills needed to identify, prioritize, understand and target market to specific customers. The candidate will also need to demonstrate the leadership skills required to play an effective role in supporting sales and interacting with customers at multiple levels of the organization.
