Job Description:
We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality baked goods, including empanadas, alfajores, and chipa, and with you on our team as a baker, we are sure to do so. You will use your culinary expertise to ensure our signature recipes are prepared to perfection, as well as create unique and delicious offerings consistent with our premise of Argentinian cuisine. Your organizational skills will be utilized as you ensure that all orders are handled appropriately so that we never run out of ingredients for any of our products. You will exercise your customer service skills as you work the front of the bakery, taking custom orders and selling our menu items.

Our bakery is a built-from-scratch 8x20 ft. food trailer fitted with 3 convection ovens, two 54" refrigeration units, one under-counter refrigeration unit, a burner / hood, and a proofing cabinet. Orders will be handled in the front window and deliveries on the side window. The space will be capable of holding up to 4 workers (2 handling orders, 2 preparing food). Our food pod (http://bgfoodcartel.com) is under construction and is expected to open in late October.

Cooking responsibilities (from AM to PM on typical day):
* Create, format bakery dough into empanada shells (flatten dough balls, cut, prep for use)
* Hand-based or press-based empanada creation (fill shells, enclose/wrap edges)
* Chimichurri prep (wash, cut, grind, mix)
* Alfajore prep (cookie dough creation, cut, bake, and assembly)

Lunch/dinner rush:
* Cook empanadas "On Demand": Coordinate with cashier, monitor heat cabinet inventory, minimize left overs
* Inventory tabulation (food supplies, consumables) towards food orders for next day
* Prepare materials for following day's use

End of day:
* Clean up workspace
* Organize deposits
* Prepare notes of day's learning for areas of continued improvement
* Develop special menu items that reflect Argentinian or Latin American cuisine (proposal, prep for owner tasting)


Job Requirements:
Job Skills & Qualifications: Required
* High school education
* 2+ years experience as a baker
* 2+ years experience as a bakery or restaurant manager

Job Skills & Qualifications: Preferred
* First-rate oral and written communication
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Experience with cash register organization (end of day summaries, deposits), employee management
* Culinary school diploma
