JOB DESCRIPTION





Performs accounting activities with focus on technical research, policies & procedures, and reporting governance to ensure preparation of internal and external financial statements are in accordance with GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and OCBOA (Other Comprehensive Basis Accounting).

Oversees the reconciling of financial information, ensures compliance with regulation, and assesses controls over financial reporting process. Works closely with a team responsible for the checking and verification of records, conducts specialized research projects, and responds to inquiries from business partners.

Responsibilities:


  • Keeps up to date with new regulations/rules/pronouncements that impact Accounting, Reporting and Compliance. Documents the findings with impacts on the Company and presents to impacted business partners.

  • Provides guidance to business partners on technical accounting questions and addresses needs for clarifications to the Company's policies or drafts new policies.

  • Responsible for department area results in terms of ensuring existing policies and procedures for the department is up to date and develops plan on periodic review and updates of documentation.

  • Coordinates audit requests and manages the audit progress of all entities by working closely with auditors and business contacts.

  • Ensures work flow procedures and guidelines are clearly documented and communicated.

  • Establishes and recommends changes to policies and communicates to business partners.

  • Reviews disclosures within the financials/filings to ensure information is consistent and up to date.

  • Tracks to ensure reconciliations are performed timely and properly, risks and opportunities are identified and reported timely, communications regarding reporting/accounting impacts for internal/external reporting are consistent.

  • May lead special projects/committees/task forces including technical accounting research and documenting accounting positions.

  • Frequently interacts with business partners and external auditors.





Education/Requirements:


  • Minimum BA/BS degree, CPA Licensed professional, 4-6 years of experience in Accounting/Public Accounting field.

  • Experience leading team and full management responsibility for staff.

  • Experience in healthcare industry

  • Experience with GAAP, Statutory Basis of Accounting, Other Comprehensive Basis Accounting
