SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Director - Prepared Foods Marketing, the individual will manage all aspects of brand marketing & custom innovation for the Vegetable Portfolio, Special Markets Group and chain accounts within the Foodservice Prepared Foods portfolio. The Brand Manager will act as the strategic business leader with Sales, Innovation and other functional groups within the organization. Responsibilities include developing an annual and long range business plans, portfolio design and strategy, value proposition development, forecasting, communication and promotional plans, innovation strategy and management, business performance analysis, and P&L management.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (list by order of importance):


  • Manage daily portfolio activities in support of the vegetable portfolio, SMG and chain-specific items within the Prepared Foods portfolio.

  • Develop an annual and long range strategic plan for Vegetables, SMG and chain account portfolio, identify growth opportunities and develop key strategies and tactics to enable delivery of financial objectives

  • Work with Sales to deliver the budget, manage and set customer pricing, build total value proposition, support trade and customer shows, prepare category reviews and help present to select customers

  • Lead and manage cross-functional project teams to execute new product launches, packaging design, artwork approvals, SKU and materials management and financial feasibility exercises

  • Support monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by working with Demand Planning to prepare monthly SKU forecasts and participating in consensus activities for SMG and chain accounts.

  • Manage agency relationship and communications plans, as needed, in support of the annual marketing plan

  • Conduct business analysis and reporting (sales, profits, competitive activity, promotional results, etc.),

    including ongoing Risk & Opportunity ledger for key accounts.

  • Prepare management reporting and advise on category trends and business performance utilizing internal and external data sources (NPD SupplyTrack, NPD Crest, Datassentials Menu Trends, etc.)

  • Manage marketing spending budget and reports on spending results and ROI

  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA strongly preferred)

  • Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to understand business fundamentals from an opportunity or challenge perspective, then convert that insight to sustainable strategies and action plans for growth

  • Entrepreneurial approach to driving a business with an ability to influence the organization

  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills and capable of independent decision making and setting business vision

  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask against several complex projects at a time

  • Familiarity with managing and leveraging primary consumer research and manipulating multiple data sources to generate business insights

  • Computer proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word




Required Length & Type of Experience:


  • 3-5 years of Marketing, Brand or Category Management experience with a focus on Foodservice channels, preferably experience with a reputable Consumer Packaged Food company

  • Food, Frozen category and/or Foodservice Marketing experience a plus
