Job Description:



JOB PURPOSE: This position will lead the new product development initiatives within the Club & Specialty Channel. You will be responsible for all sales & market driven product development. Leads channel white space identification and concept/proposition development. You will be a key member of our Club Division team & work closely with Sales, R&D and customers to successfully bring new products to market. Responsibilities include: NPD strategic planning, market data analysis, new product development pipeline, new product development presentations, final approval on item specifications & packaging. The successful execution of these responsibilities will result in long-term sales growth and profitability within the Division.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND INFLUENCE:



  • Direct reports include Product Manager and Design Project Manager.

  • Develops, plans and implements new product development process in Club channel.

  • Interprets and analyzes market data.

  • Leads club customer innovation meetings from item conception to meeting execution & final prioritization of new opportunities.

  • Leads our team in quick response to club customer requests & new item joint development with customers.

  • Leads teams and works closely with other departments such as Research & Development, Operations, Finance Sales, Market Research, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

  • Works closely with Director of Sales to decide what items are developed and shown to each customer; together you will create a go to market plan for new items.

  • Works closely with Director of R&D in new pipeline development.

  • Member of company Innovation Steering Team

  • Review & refreshes core items in bake, pancake, snack in order to keep items fresh & stay ahead of competition.

  • Leads cross functional team to develop new initiatives from discovery and ideation through commercialization using the stage gate process.

  • Plans appropriately through each stage of the innovation pipeline to ensure adequate depth/resources to meet business objectives.

  • Utilizes and creates internal NPD pipeline & analytical models/tools that will support the development of new products.

  • Cross Channel Project leadership and cross channel project coordination

  • Provide quarterly updates to Planning Team Members on platform projects, new category opportunities and core item refresh projects.

  • Attend weekly R&D cuttings to provide input on project progress, make decisions, approve final concepts to be shown to customers.

  • Participates & key influencer in weekly project priority meeting with Club VP & Club Operations manager in setting priorities for the Club project managers, design manager & R&D.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree

  • 10 years' experience in food industry

  • Prior experience in club channel product development is required including customer facing experience
