We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced food commodities professional to join our procurement team at our Lisle, Illinois location! This role is responsible for leading the sourcing of over $100 million in North American commodities and ingredient spend for the McCain Foods company. This person supports and develops the hedging and category strategies. Leads contract negotiations and manages supplier relationship development including monitoring performance versus expectations. Will also be required to recommend, approve and implement business allocations.



Bring leadership on specific commodities and market knowledge, influencing business needs and commercial results to the company. Must have in-depth knowledge of:




  • Ingredients (dairy, grains, fruits and vegetables)

  • Commodities risk management and hedging strategies




Communications and Interactions - The person will manage multiple internal and external organizational relationships. They will lead the overall supplier relationship strategy for spend area, ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers by reinforcing policy, ethics and our strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments.



Engage and collaborate cross functions and other team members to deliver best practices and accelerated results.

Drive cost focused strategy for Indirect spend area


  • Lead the sourcing strategy to deliver going cost savings targets

  • Delivery of Sustainable Cost Advantage Program


Build supplier relationship program for the relative markets to deliver significant value for McCain Foods

Ensure company purchases in the spend pool comply with company internal controls requirements

Drive individual accountability for performance deliverable

Build up strong and effective relationship with McCain cross function team to deliver initiatives and savings



Qualifications:

Must have 3+ years procurement experience in food industry commodities and ingredients.

Must have Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business or Finance, MBA a plus

Must have strong knowledge of the food business and commodity market dynamics
