Who We're Looking For: Currently, TrueCar is looking for entrepreneurial and self-motivated technologists to help drive products from inception through launch and iterations.
Responsibilities include: collection of business and technical requirements from internal and external stakeholders, helping define product vision and strategy, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release. You will lead and coordinate efforts between internal teams and outside partners. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to ensure on-time delivery, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal and external teams.
The right candidate will possess a strong program or technical product management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded background in current web technologies. You must be able to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or conflicting priorities. As a Program Manager you will bring order to chaos, anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. The ability to take complex projects and break them into manageable pieces, develop specifications, and deliver them on time essential. Maturity, judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Basic Qualifications:
* BA or BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
* 2+ years experience working on a software development team (as a developer, QA engineer, or PM)
* 2+ years experience managing products and writing technical specifications
* A working knowledge of current web technologies
* Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational management skills
* Demonstrated ability to gather requirements across diverse stakeholders, convert them into a product vision, and drive the project through execution.
* Ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences.
* Be a strong leader who can prioritize well, and who understands how to drive focus and consensus within a strong, talented, opinionated team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5+ years of product or program management experience
* A strong understanding of the auto industry
* MBA
