Description of the work
Data Analyst
• Work independently to provide data analysis support on the project.
• Perform data analysis to identify significance and business usage of various elements in a database.
• Assist with data conversion process from silo legacy database files to nationwide repository.
• Apply facilitation techniques, training, methodology development and evaluation across all phases of SDLC.
• Possess strong oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to SSA counterparts.
• Facilitate meetings to elicit and discuss requirements for the project. Additionally, document and publish meeting minutes, when required.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required.
• In- depth knowledge of SDLC
• Data Conversion Specifications
• Requirements elicitation and documentation (Use Case Specification, Detailed Functional Requirements, Data Conversion Specifications, and Data Dictionary )
• Meeting Minutes
• MS Office
• Rational RequisitePro
• HP Quality Center
• SharePoint (preferred)
• DB2 Experience (preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Maintaining, administering and supporting databases
• Managing access and privileges.
• Installing and configuring database management software, translating database design and diagnosing database performance issues.
• Installing software upgrades and managing hardware upgrades.
• Develop backup and recovery strategies, and monitor servers to ensure capacity is not exceeded.
• Devise network strategies, test systems and develop an document system standards.
Evaluating new tools and technologies, analyzing user needs and presenting findings to management.
