Job Description:
Desirable candidate to have support a Utility Client managing the hardware environment in their Data Centers. The role will involve working in shifts on rotation basis (24 x 7 Operations). Candidate to have L1 skills in Data Centre (HP servers and Storage), and L1 knowledge on Network Products and Services (LAN, WAN)
• Responsible to monitor & troubleshoot Data Centre Facilities
• Performs installation of network switch/hub/console and patch panel
• Knowledge of Installation of wired and wireless equipment
• Installs power PDU’s, and server power connections
• Able to Handle of Tape Libraries/Drives and Media Management
• Connection/Replacement of power cables, network cables (LAN and ILO cables), SCSI cables (if needed), external backup units (if present)
• Responsible to setup technology & system operation for the Data Centre
• Acquire Data Centre certification to a worldwide standard
• Racks and stacks servers and network equipment into cabinets per SOP
• Co-ordinate with Vendor / OEM for spares & replacements
• Conduct daily maintenance and reporting
• Conduct clear and effective two-way communication, verbal and electronic, with team members and vendors as well as, internal and external customers
