Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
• To manage the intake of children and volunteers including orientation, interviewing, screening and reference checks.
• To develop, plan, recruit for and supervise various group mentoring programs as required.
• To conduct a Child Safety training program with volunteers, children and parents.
• To monitor matches in accordance with National Standards.
• To maintain the online case management system including client information and case notes on all matches in accordance with the National Standards.
• To perform administrative functions as required to manage the volunteer and client caseload.
• To liaise with schools, other youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs or the public in general as required.
• To assist with agency special events and fund raising events as required.
• To participate in educational development opportunities as directed at regional conferences, national convention and various workshops in the community.
• To provide reports as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
A two year post-secondary diploma in a related field (e.g. education, social or human services, child and youth work, family studies etc.).
• effective oral and written communication skills
• strong problem solving skills
• ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• sound computer skills
• ability to work flexible hours
• access to a vehicle
• experience working with small groups of young children
