Job Description:
Trinity Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Gospel Music Leader to help grow the Christian faith of the members and strengthen the worship services. Qualified individuals will be strong Christian leaders with a God giving presence that ignites the Holy Spirit to life changing worshipful experiences for the congregation. Applicants should possess sufficient musical, organizational, and technological skills to select and arrange music appropriate for the service, in addition to scheduling and rehearsing several choirs. Purposefully diverse with a blended musical style, our vibrant music ministry includes a sanctuary choir, mass choir, worship team, children’s choirs, male chorus, and Women’s choir. We are blessed with many talented and active participants of all ages from throughout the congregation with choir members ranging in age from 2 to 80.
Job Requirements:
The Gospel Music Leader shall:
Articulate a clear Christian vision of the arts and their role in supporting authentic worship and praise.
Have the appropriate level of mastery to effectively conduct and teach the musicians and choir as a key component to authentic worship and praise.
Be experienced in and apply a wide range of Christian musical styles for a traditional Baptist worship service and events.
Employ effective Christian leadership and management skills in carrying out the responsibilities of this position and serve as a Christian mentor for the choir members.
Proficiency on several musical instruments is a plus.
Candidates that can play by ear, as well as, candidates that can read music will be a great match for the established choirs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and directing our music ministry. With prior experience leading a congregational worship service, as well as, musical training and education, the candidate will plan weekly worship services and provide leadership and vision to help grow and guide the music ministry. The candidate must have a flexible schedule, be available for rehearsals several times a week, as well as, engagements outside of regular Sunday worship services.
