Hood Packaging, a leading North American manufacturer of flexible packaging, has an opening for a Printing Supervisor at our Calgary Plastics Plant.
Working under the direction of the Production Superintendent, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the Press Department printing polyethylene film on wide web roll to roll presses using solvent based inks.
The successful candidate will supervise the activities of the assigned personnel; train & direct employees with respect to quality, output, cost, meeting production schedules, complying with Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices; and resolve personnel problems that might arise.
You will ensure that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly prepared for efficient production; arrange for equipment maintenance; resolve issues as they occur; and keep records of departmental activities, as required. This includes being responsible for the supply and control of all raw material and consumables used in the department.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post secondary diploma or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• 5 years’ experience working with solvent based Flexographic Printing required, including Process Print.
• 1-2 years’ leadership experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, written & verbal communication, organizational skills and proven leadership capabilities.
• Must not be color blind.
