Job Description:
We are looking for an excellent Business Analyst with extensive requirements gathering experience that is ready for the challenge that a global program brings. This is great opportunity to work in the fast moving media business for one of the biggest industry players combined with a fantastic client facing program.
Client Reporting Program
This program is part of the Global IT department and has the responsibility for developing and maintaining a planning and client reporting solution for all regional and global client teams across the 4 main brands in the comapny. We have recently secured funding for a 5 year multi-million dollar program and are actively seeking to hire the correct team to successfully execute this program in line with the timescales and strategy that has been defined.
In order to meet business requirements in a timely and cost efficient manner it is policy of the company’s technology to “buy, configure and implement” commercial applications where possible. The overall solution envisaged for this program fits into this strategy and has the following projects:
1. Configuration and implementation of an industry standard advertising planning tool on a per client basis on a worldwide basis
2. Integration into the infrastructure
3. Data warehouse construction and report definitions
4. Retirement of the existing solution
Role Outline
Working in a small agile team, the role will comprise of the following aspects:
1. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
2. Interpret these business issues, opportunities and user requirements and distinguish between the real business needs vs. user desires
3. Proactively communicate to all stakeholders with up to date, relevant information
4. Capture user requirements through User Stories using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), workflow diagrams & documentation where necessary to ensure that knowledge is retained within the team and organization
5. Assist with testing code to ensure that it meets the minimum code quality standards
6. Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
7. Follow the in-house agile software development lifecycle and suggest improvements where they are identified
Job Requirements:
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
Essential Skills
University educated with a good degree from an established university
Skilled Business Analyst with 5 years experience of working on technical projects in the Advertising sector
Extensive experience of working closely with development teams, products owners, end users and business stakeholders.
Commercial experience of working within an agile development team for over 2 years
Deep experience of agile and traditional business analysis techniques – Business Process modeling, Scenarios, User Stories, Use Cases etc.
Possesses a good understanding of technology trends and movements
Eperience of integration projects
Experience of working with 3rd party software houses that are not based in the same country and geographically dispersed project teams
Desirable Skills
Exposure of working for a large multinational blue chip organization
Experience of performing analysis on integration projects
Exposure to the Microsoft .Net platform
Exposure to SharePoint 2007 & an understanding of SharePoint 2010
SOx compliance awareness
Personal attributes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Hard working and committed to the organization, will be prepared to work until the job is complete
Flexible approach to working on projects, prepared to travel internationally when necessary
