New Jersey, Maryland or Virginia with extensive travel throughout the United States.



Summary:

Mission1st is a leading provider of on-site project management & engineering expertise for the Dept of Defense communications initiatives domestically and abroad. We are seeking a Business Development professional. This individual will be reporting to the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, candidate is expected to lead customer identification and market development, opportunity assessment and validation and pipeline management. Individual will be responsible for developing growth strategy and has the unique mission to bring services and opportunities to existing IDIQ contracting vehicles. Major focus is customer relationship management and to identify opportunities, formulate and execute capture strategies and execution for profitable program of record. The position will require extensive travel and will responsible for new business, relationship management, capture efforts, requirements development and business growth for emerging opportunities globally.

Responsibilities:


Must have a thorough knowledge base of Defense acquisition and military market development in order to apply these effectively to our sales goals and objectives.

He/she must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with DoD and civilian agencies and have service development and marketing strategies, competitive analysis and investment allocation recommendations experience.

Extensive experience in developing new business from prime or subcontract sources held by Mission1st with emphasis on professional engineering services.

He/she will ensure roles and objectives are clearly defined to further develop empowerment and accountability and have the ability to develop and work as part of a team, fostering relationship with Business Development internal customers (Program Area Directors and PM's) and external customer and have the ability to work in collaborative environment across business units.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:


Must have Bachelors degree; Master degree preferred.

Must have at least 5 – 10 years of Business Development or related sales experience in the Federal or Defense work market place.

The candidate should possess an understanding of the Public Sector Industry verticals (DoD, Federal Civilian, State & Local Government, Higher Education, and Aerospace & Defense)

The candidate should possess experience and knowledge of the RFI, RFQ and RFP process and the ability to work with the Virtual Account Team in developing and crafting responses

Must be an “out of the box” thinker, with outstanding problem –solving skills and that is an effective multi-tasker with the ability to work independently

Superior analytical skills, attention to detail, effective decision-making, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

Ability to work in collaborative environment across business units.

The ability to make sound decisions in stressful business situations
