The Environmental Compliance / Environmental Assessments Leader will need to have a solid foundation in working in the utilities and energy business sector with proven success in managing environmental compliance and documentation.
The primary responsibilities of the Environmental Compliance / Environmental Assessments Leader will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Managing environmental compliance and documentation programs and projects (CEQA/NEPA, Proponents Environmental Assessments, CPUC filings)
• Providing leadership to technical staff and allocating company resources when given the role of Project Manager
• Reviewing and signing proposals and reports to ensure compliance with company policy
• Leading business development efforts to attract new work and maintain current clients
• Providing financial, technical, and administrative guidance to the firm as well as managing quality assurance and overall operations



Job Requirements:
Qualified candidate for the Environmental Compliance / Environmental Assessments Leader position will need to meet the following requirements to be considered:
• Have a B.S or M.S in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or other related technical field. Natural Sciences (Biology) background is highly preferred
• 10-15 years of experience in the Energy/utilities sector working on Proponents Environmental Assessments (PEA) and CPUC related environmental filings
• Prior experience in Environmental Management with strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, environmental documentation (CEQA/NEPA) and mitigation
• Direct experience with PG&E or SCE and/or Sempra is highly preferred. Project management experience with electrical and gas utilities and merchant power companies in California is an absolute MUST
• Solid knowledge of electrical and natural gas transmission, fossil fuel power generation and the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro) is desired
• Experience working directly with federal and state energy regulators (FERC, CEC, and CPUC) and natural resources agencies (USFWS, NPS, and the CA Dept. of Fish and Game) is a plus
• Professional registration or certification also a plus
